Etna Wine Country from Taormina: Five Glasses and Two Estates

Six hours through the wine country on the slopes of Etna, with a local guide who does the driving. The first choice is the group. The first is a family winery, with a look round the cellars and then the tasting: five glasses of Etna wine with cheeses, salami, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. The second is an old farmhouse or country estate, where the food and the wine carry on. What is grown and cooked here comes off lava soil, the food is organic, and the pastries follow old recipes. Pick-up is at 10.00 and the drop-off is at your accommodation in Taormina, Letojanni or Giardini Naxos. The vehicle is an 8-seat Mercedes minivan with air conditioning, and the guide is licensed.
