Etna in the Morning, the Alcantara Gurne After Lunch

TaorminaTwo different kinds of ground in one day: the volcano in the morning, the river in the afternoon. Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe, and the morning covers the old craters, the lava caves, entered with helmets and lamps, and a tasting of local produce at an organic farm. One thing to be clear about before booking: the high-altitude option, the cable car and the off-road jeep, is not included in this tour. The afternoon goes to the Alcantara valley. The walk follows the river through thick vegetation to the Gurne, the small lakes the water has cut for itself, and then to the gorges, where the basalt stands in columns in the sides of the canyon. The excursion is run by Etna Tribe.
