Coasteering at Caloura: Swimming, Climbing and Cliff Jumps

Coasteering is the coastline taken at sea level: swimming between the rocks, climbing out of the water, and jumping back into it from the cliffs. This one runs at Caloura, on the south coast of São Miguel, where the cliffs drop straight into clear water. Between jumps you swim with the ocean currents along the rocks and get a look at the marine life around them. The session lasts about three hours with qualified guides, and the activity is licensed and insured. The guides take photos and videos along the way, and those are included. Everyone is kitted out in a neoprene suit, boots and socks, with a helmet and a harness. Guiding is in Portuguese and English. The group meets at the Cerco-Galera car park. Transfers are not part of the standard booking; pick-up and drop-off can be added as an option.
