Airtime Zipline: 9 Cables, a Practice Line and No Extreme Heights
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
La FortunaAirtime Zipline Adventure sits a few minutes from the middle of La Fortuna, next door to the Sloth Watching Trail. The course has 9 cables and 10 platforms, and one of those cables is a practice line: you fly that one first, before anything longer. That, and a maximum height of 38 metres, is what makes this the version for families and first-timers. It is exciting without going to extreme heights, and children from 4 years up are accepted. The individual cables run from 80 to 550 metres. On a clear day the views take in Arenal, Cerro Chato and the forest between them, though the volcano depends on the weather. The platforms are built from sustainable and recycled materials and sit at canopy height, where sloths, toucans, monkeys and tropical birds are seen regularly. The operator holds all the official permits and the insurance required by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. The whole thing takes a couple of hours, which makes it easy to fit around something else.
