Private SUV Around Mount Rainier: the Full Circuit, Four Walking Stops
A private SUV and a full day, and the route goes all the way around the mountain rather than up one side and back down it. The scenery changes completely as you circle, which is the reason for the extra driving. Four stops are built in for trail walks or waterfalls. Whether you walk at them is your decision: the option is there and nobody insists. Besides the expected places, the day takes in ground most tours skip, with viewpoints, waterfalls and quieter parts of the park. One honest caveat from the operator. In May, June and late October there can still be snow at Paradise. The roads stay clear, but the loop may not be possible and the return may use the same road out. When that happens, extra walks are added to make up the day. Waterfalls, old growth forest, meadows in flower and wildlife where it lives. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
