Etna and Taormina with Lunch in a Winery: Two Etna DOC Wines

Two of the places people come to Sicily for, in one day. The hiking route climbs to 2,000 metres, through forest, craters and lava formations. A volcanic cave is part of it, entered with the helmets and torches the operator provides. Lunch is in a wine cellar, with local food and two Etna DOC wines from local production. In winter the wineries are not always available, so the meal may move elsewhere, to a chalet with sandwiches or typical Sicilian street food, water and local red Etna wine. The price does not change either way. The cave carries its own caveat: snow or ice inside can make it inaccessible, and when that happens the visit does not go ahead. Taormina takes the rest of the day. Corso Umberto, the Greek Theatre, souvenirs if you want them, or a bench and the view. The tour runs in Italian and English, and in Spanish or French on request.
