Arenal Combo from San Jose: Seven Ziplines and a 150-Foot Rappel over the River
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
San JoseThe same scenic road to Arenal that avoids the highway, with one difference that decides who books it: two hours in the canopy in the middle of the day. The zipline course runs seven cables through the rainforest and ends with a rappel line 150 feet above the Arenal River. A short presentation by people of the Maleku community follows it, on their culture and traditions. Before that, the morning goes through a coffee plantation, the La Paz waterfall for a few minutes of photographs, and the San Fernando lookout, where the coffee is finally drunk with traditional snacks while hummingbirds work the bird gallery. At the Iguanas Center the animals are at eye level from a viewing bridge, and sloths are usually visible at a spot nearby. Lunch is Costa Rican, at a restaurant near the volcano, and it comes before the cables rather than after. The afternoon finishes in the thermal mineral water at Paradise Hot Springs and Gardens: small pools, jacuzzis and cascades into larger lagoons. Dinner is at a typical restaurant on the way back to San Jose. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
