Préparer des nouilles hōtō au pied du mont Fuji, et déguster ce que tu as préparé
La plupart des excursions d'une journée au Mont Fuji incluent un repas. Celle-ci, en revanche, te fait travailler d'abord. Hōtō est le plat emblématique de Yamanashi : des nouilles plates et épaisses, faites à la main, dans un bouillon de miso avec les légumes de saison. Tu prépares les tiennes, et ensuite tu les manges, ce qui transforme le déjeuner d'une simple pause en une partie intégrante de la journée. Avant cela, la croisière Kawaguchiko Appare te permet d'admirer le Mont Fuji au-dessus de l'eau, et le parc Oishi met des fleurs devant lui. Après le déjeuner, tu visites Oshino Hakkai, où les étangs sont alimentés par des sources d'eau de la montagne et où les chemins sont calmes. La dernière étape est le parc Arakurayama Sengen, où se trouve la pagode à cinq étages, avec le Mont Fuji en arrière-plan. Pendant la saison des cerisiers en fleurs, de nombreux photographes arrivent, et les marches à monter valent la peine, quoi qu'il arrive. Un guide anglophone accompagne la visite, et un guide audio est disponible en français, italien, espagnol, allemand, portugais et ukrainien. Le point de rendez-vous est à 7h20 près de la statue LOVE à Shinjuku, le départ est à 7h30, et le retour à la gare de Shinjuku est prévu vers 17h30, si la circulation le permet. Annule au moins 24 heures avant le départ pour obtenir un remboursement intégral.

Oishi Park looks across the lake at the mountain, with flowers out in every season.

After the lake, the Hōtō cooking. The dish is handmade thick flat noodles in a miso broth with seasonal vegetables, and it is what Yamanashi eats when the weather turns. Making it together is half the point.

Oshino Hakkai is a set of ponds fed by spring water off Mount Fuji. The water is clear enough to see the bottom, and the paths between them are quiet.
Arakurayama Sengen Park
The five-storey pagoda with Mount Fuji behind it. In cherry blossom season it fills with photographers. The steps up are the price of the view.

Final drop-off at Shinjuku Station around 17:30, traffic permitting.
