Cette excursion d'une journée propose deux itinéraires différents en fonction de la période de l'année. De mai à octobre : Musée de Longmire, Christine Falls sous son pont en pierre, Narada Falls, deux heures à Paradise au milieu des prairies fleuries, et les lacs Reflection, qui reflètent la montagne lorsque l'eau est calme. De novembre à avril, le programme change : une heure plus longue à Longmire, et une promenade sur une section du Wonderland Trail, avec la neige. Le parc accueille plus de 1,8 million de visiteurs par an et abrite Emmons et Carbon, les plus grands glaciers en volume des États-Unis continentaux. Les groupes sont petits, le transport depuis Seattle est inclus dans les deux sens, et c'est la présence d'un guide qui justifie de réserver cette excursion plutôt que d'y aller par vous-même.   1. Seattle

    Mount Rainier, also called Tacoma, is the highest peak in the Cascade Range and the tallest volcano in mainland America. It is heavily glaciated and holds snow all year, and it feeds five major rivers, which is where the waterfalls, alpine lakes and forest below it come from. Summer (May to October): Seattle, Mount Rainier National Park, Longmire Museum, Christine Falls, Narada Falls, Paradise Visitor Center, Reflection Lakes, Seattle. Winter (November to April): Seattle, Mount Rainier National Park, Longmire Museum, Wonderland Trail, Seattle.

  2. Mount Rainier National Park

    The park is ringed by the Wonderland Trail and holds Emmons and Carbon, the largest glaciers by volume in the contiguous United States. Over 1.8 million people visit each year. Thousands attempt the summit annually and about half of them reach it. Rainier is the tallest volcano in mainland America and the fifth tallest mountain in all US territory. The snow on top never fully goes, and what melts comes down in volume: the waterfalls, the lakes and the water the forest lives on.

    Summer 20 minutes, winter 60. Longmire Museum stands at 2,700 feet on the south side of the mountain, in the historic Longmire district. It was a ranger station once and now holds exhibits on the park's geology, its wildlife, the early explorers and Native American history. It is small, and it is the right place to start.

  4. Christine Falls Viewpoint

    Christine Falls drops beneath a stone bridge, which is why it is the most photographed waterfall in the park. It is visible from the road, so the stop is short. Weather and road conditions permitting.

  5. Narada Falls

    Summer only, 40 minutes. Narada Falls comes over hardened lava a few steps from the road, fed by the Paradise River. It is one of the biggest waterfalls in the park you can reach without walking far, and it is loud.

    Summer only, 120 minutes. Paradise got its name from an early visitor's reaction to it, and in summer it is mountain views and meadows full of wildflowers. The Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center is here. It is also the park's main winter area, with an average of more than 53 feet of snow a year.

  7. Reflection Lakes

    Summer, May to October. These small alpine lakes hold the mountain on their surface when the air is still. It is the most reproduced view in the park, and it depends entirely on the conditions of the day.

  8. Wonderland Trail

    The Wonderland Trail is a 93-mile loop around Mount Rainier and one of the most sought-after backpacking routes in the country. Permits for the full circuit are hard to get; in winter this tour walks a section of it.

  • Explore the park's best spots by hiking or snowshoeing, depending on the season. In the case of heavy snowfall during the winter season, the schedule of going uphill at Mount Rainier National Park may be halted. We will instead enjoy the breathtaking views at the foot of the mountain instead.
  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pregnant travelers may join if they are under 24 weeks pregnant by the end of the trip.
  • Please double-check your booking details (name and contact info), as any errors may result in additional personal costs.
  • Tickets and Admission Policy: Third-party attraction tickets or city passes are not accepted for participation in the tour. All admission tickets must be purchased either during booking or directly from your tour guide on the day of the tour.
  • You must contact the tour operator at least 3 days prior to the departure date to provide the pick-up location.
