TokioHakone als Tagesausflug von Tokio aus, wobei die vulkanische Seite immer im Blick bleibt. Der Hakone-Schrein wurde im Jahr 757 gegründet, und sein rotes Torii steht im Wasser des Ashi-Sees, für den viele Menschen kommen, um Fotos zu machen. Die optionale Piratenschiff-Fahrt über den See ist nicht im Preis enthalten: Die Tickets kosten etwa 12 US-Dollar und werden vor Ort bezahlt. Wer sie überspringt, fährt stattdessen mit dem Reisebus zur nächsten Station, sodass die Entscheidung nichts kostet außer der Fahrpreis. Die Hakone-Seilbahn führt über Owakudani, und das Tal darunter ist ein aktives vulkanisches Gebiet, das durch seine Ventile Dampf abgibt. In Owakudani werden die Eier im schwefelhaltigen Wasser gekocht, bis die Schalen schwarz werden. Es heißt, dass der Verzehr eines solchen Eies dein Leben um Jahre verlängert, und genügend Leute glauben das, sodass es eine lange Schlange gibt. Yamanakako, der Schwanensee, ist einer der fünf Seen des Fuji und sowohl die Vögel als auch der Berg finden sich im selben Bild. Oshino Hakkai beendet den Tag: acht klare Teiche, die von schmelzendem Schnee vom Fuji gespeist werden, wobei sich der Berg in ihnen spiegelt. Die Abfahrten erfolgen um 7:30 Uhr vom Bahnhof Tokio oder um 8:00 Uhr von Shinjuku. Der Reiseleiter hält eine gelbe Flagge. Bitte sei 15 Minuten vorher da. Hakone Shrine
Hakone Shrine sits by Lake Ashi, and its red torii rises straight out of the water. The shrine was established in 757 AD, which puts a good deal of history behind the view.

The Hakone pirate ship crosses Lake Ashi, with the lake, the torii and Mount Fuji from the deck. The ticket is not included and costs around USD 12, paid separately. Anyone who prefers not to sail takes the tour bus to the next stop.

Yamanakako, the swan lake, is one of the five lakes of Mount Fuji. The swans and the mountain sit in the same photograph.

The day ends at Oshino Hakkai, a village of eight clear ponds fed by snowmelt from Fuji, with the mountain in the reflections. A slow walk is the way to take it.
